FTR—Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood

vs.

Blackpool Combat Club—ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta & Claudio Castagnoli!

Claudio Castagnoli and Dax Harwood grappled at the start of the match, with Claudio trying to smother Dax. Claudio served up a big European Uppercut. Dax left the ring to gather himself. Dax backed Claudio into the turnbuckles and lit up Claudio’s chest with a stiff chop. Claudio body slammed Dax and double stomped Dax’s sternum.

Wheeler grabbed a tag and he and Dax exchanged chops. Cash came in and he and Dax delivered a double elbow to young Wheeler Yuta. Cash clobbered Yuta with a European Uppercut. So, I’m sorry to be a stickler but the match clearly says twenty! Claudio put Cutler in the Giant Swing! Yuta dropkicked Cutler! FTR rocked Cutler with the Shatter Machine and then tore up the contract!

Claudio: “Cutler ruined it. But I’ll tell you this, anytime, anyplace, we’re on!”

“An issue that is not yet done,” said Schiavone.

“I’d love to see them run it back too, but do you think the EVPs are going to let that happen?” wondered Nigel.

“Earlier today I had a conversation with Tony Khan. For the first time ever, we were on the same page. I told Tony that Kris Statlander is the past, the present, and the future of AEW! And also, she is going to make history. Because she will be the first woman to win the TBS Championship and win the AEW World Women’s Championship!

“And you may be asking yourself how. She’s going to make history again because I am announcing right now that she is the first entrant into the 2024 Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournament! And she’s going to win, she’s going to go on to Wembley, she’ll win there against whoever is champion, and hold the AEW Women’s World Championship high. And there is no one who can stop her!”

“Wow, Dustin earned this one,” said Schiavone.

“Did he ever!” replied Nigel.

Dustin: “This doesn’t happen a lot for me, standing in the ring after the match. I’ve got two things I’ve got to talk to you about tonight. Number one is you. For almost 37 years, you guys have not abandoned me. I appreciate and love you all. I want to thank everyone in the back, and Tony Khan. Most importantly, I want to thank these cameramen. These are the best cameramen in the business.

“The second thing and the most important, I want to talk about the one they call ‘Scapegoat’ Jack Perry. Jack, when you left, we missed you. And when you came back, we were happy to see you, but what did you do? You attacked my boss. The man who pays my paychecks and who ultimately gave you a second chance.

“You disgust me, Jack Perry. You joined with The Elite. Lately, Jack, I’ve been hearing you talk about sacrifice and how much you’ve sacrificed for this business. Let me tell you something, boy. You were born with a silver spoon in your mouth. You’ve never worked a day in your life.

“For 37 years I have sacrificed for my family, the most important thing in my life. Jack to put it simply, you ain’t sacrificed s—t! When I met you as a little boy, I took a picture with you and I thought, what a cool little kid. But you’re mediocre now because you’re a follower and not a leader. And to quote my late father, if you’re a follower, the view never changes!

“Jack, you and I have a match this Wednesday on Dynamite. Jack, I am going to destroy your little punk ass. You can’t beat me fair and square. And I’ll mark my whole career on that. This Wednesday night when it’s all over and you’re lying in a pile of heap, you will never forget my name, ‘The Nature’ Dustin Rhodes!”

Toni: “Mariah, I know you’ve been having a real tough time lately. And in a few short weeks I’ll be facing your friend and your former partner Mina Shirakawa. And I know that must be very awkward for you. But darling, I love you so much. I’m so proud of you and I want you to have all the same opportunities as me, but I never had anyone look out for me. And that’s what I’m going to do for you. So, as AEW Women’s World Champion I am demanding that you be entered into the Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournament!”

“And I’m going to be there for you. And we’re going to get through this together!”
