It was truly a timeless night in Brisbane for All Elite Wrestling's GRAND SLAM: AUSTRALIA this past Saturday night! Not only did we enjoy epic bouts for the TBS Championship and AEW Continental Championship, we all bore witness to “Timeless” Toni Storm defeat “The Glamour” Mariah May to earn her fourth AEW Women's Championship! On top of that, Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay defeated AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher in a must-see tag team battle, and The Death Riders' AEW World Champion Jon Moxley and World Trios Champion Claudio Castagnoli bested “The Rated R Superstar” Cope and Jay White in the Brisbane Brawl! With one of the most energetic crowds we've ever had the pleasure to experience, AEW cannot wait to return to Australia in 2026:
This week we are back in the States for one huge night of action in Phoenix at the Arizona Financial Theatre! DYNAMITE is coming to you live from this amazing venue with a Street Fight pitting Powerhouse Hobbs against “The Redwood” Big Bill, The Opps (HOOK, Katsuyori Shibata, and Samoa Joe) will fight The Patriarchy in a trios contest, and we begin the REVOLUTION 2025 International Championship series when the returning Orange Cassidy faces Roderick Strong! Plus after weeks of circling each other, their heated backstage confrontation on the last DYNAMITE, and the brawl that carried throughout the arena, Hangman Page and MJF will meet face-to-face in Phoenix!
DYNAMITE hails from the Arizona Financial Theatre in Phoenix for the very first time, and the night will kick-off at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT streaming on MAX, as well as on TBS, and around the world via AEW PLUS and TSN in Canada! Before you dive into the action, drop by the official AEW YouTube channel to catch-up on highlights from last week's DYNAMITE, as well as GRAND SLAM: AUSTRALIA, then swing by Honor Club to catch GLOBAL WARS 2025! For those fortunate enough to be on-hand in Phoenix, you'll also be the first to experience this Saturday night's COLLISION before the rest of the world as it will be taped immediately following DYNAMITE. As for the rest of the world, you can follow AEW to the Frontwave Arena in Oceanside, CA where the winner of Cassidy/Strong will face Konosuke Takeshita for the AEW International Championship!
STREET FIGHT...
“The Redwood” Big Bill vs. Powerhouse Hobbs
It's been building for weeks now, ever since COLLISON: MAXIMUM CARNAGE when The Learning Tree assaulted Powerhouse Hobbs backstage prior to the 12-Man tag main event highlighted by Hobbs and Bill throwing down before Powerhouse ultimately pinned Bryan Keith for the win. The injury that lingered from Learning Tree's assault kept Hobbs from being medically cleared for competition, but that didn't mean he wasn't able to fight, and that's just what we got all over Daily's Place a week later at COLLISION: HOMECOMING 2025:
Hobbs has made it his personal mission to be a thorn in the side of The Learning Tree, Big Bill specifically, and he made that clear on February 5th when he interrupted Jericho's “New York Minute”, and again this past Wednesday in Texas when, as seen up above, he helped foil Jericho's scheme against Bandido and Big Bill's attempt to cash in on the $200,000 bounty. Tonight the two behemoths finally get a chance to slug it out, only this will go down in a Street Fight, meaning the presence of The Learning Tree could still play a factor in their battle! That being said, it also means men like The Outrunners and Bandido could be on-hand to balance the scales for Powerhouse Hobbs as he looks to settle his score with “The Redwood”!
REVOLUTION 2025 International Championship Series
Undisputed Kingdom's Roderick Strong vs. Orange Cassidy
The world heard Kenny Omega lay the challenge on the line at GRAND SLAM: AUSTRALIA after he and Will Ospreay defeated AEW International Champion Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher:
Kenny Omega wants a shot at the International Championship, and a fight with “The Alpha” Konosuke Takeshita after hearing the nonstop commentary from Don Callis regarding their history. After pinning Takeshita in Brisbane, “The Cleaner” has certified his spot in an International Championship match come REVOLUTION 2025 on March 9th, but the question is who will be the one entering Los Angeles with the championship around their waist?
Why is this in question? Because over the next several weeks All Elite Wrestling presents the REVOLUTION 2025 International Champions Series, and that could mean a new man holding the title when AEW comes to town for that pay-per-view extravaganza! The series kicks off tonight on DYNAMITE when two former AEW International Champions clash for the first time since their REVOLUTION 2024 International Championship fight. That night in Greensboro it was Roderick Strong victorious, bringing an end to OC's second run with the title he elevated from the All-Atlantic Title to the International Championship over the course of his first reign! In the year since that title fight, the two competitors have shared the ring 11 times but not once in a one-on-one rematch before this evening in Phoenix. Though the title is not on the line, the opportunity to fight Konosuke Takeshita for it is, because the victor here moves on to the 2/26 DYNAMITE for an International Championship fight with “The Alpha”!
Can OC even the score with Roddy in this long-awaited rematch from REVOLUTION '24, or does “The Messiah of the Backbreaker” have Freshly Squeezed's number when it comes to head-to-head competition? No doubt both Takeshita and Kenny Omega are going to keep a close eye on this one!
TRIOS GRUDGE MATCH...
The Opps (HOOK, Katsuyori Shibata, & Samoa Joe) vs. The Patriarchy (Christian Cage, Kip Sabian, & Nick Wayne)
The world heard Samoa Joe speak last week after he, HOOK, and Katsuyori Shibata dominated in their trios victory on DYNAMITE. He told everyone that they are The Opps, and their only answer to solving problems is violence. It's just unfortunate for the rest of the competitors who occupy the All Elite Wrestling landscape that they always have a problem, but also fortunate for everyone else that their current problem has a name and three faces who claim that name.
The Patriarchy of Nick Wayne, Kip Sabian, and ALL IN: LONDON 2024 Casino Gauntlet Winner Christian Cage are in the crosshairs of Joe, HOOK, and Shibata after months of Cage and his “children” making HOOK's life hellish. They even went so far as to assault his father Taz in the parking lot of an arena, forcing him out of the commentary booth, and they attempted to take away the career of HOOK as well when he was a man standing on his own.
HOOK endured, despite the injuries The Patriarchy also perpetrated on him, and Christian Cage managed to escape his reckoning last month when Kip and Nick handed HOOK a DQ victory to save their “father” from a legitimate defeat at HOOK's hands. Thankfully HOOK is not alone in this fight against The Patriarchy; first it was Shibata who stepped up to the assist at the end of 2024, and then Samoa Joe returned to the fold after far too many months away to even up the sides.
Tonight on DYNAMITE, these two sides go to war on generally equal footings. The Patriarchy does have a Mother Wayne advantage, but is she brave enough to step in-between The Opps and her “family” if Christian Cage expects it? “The Patriarch” wasn't willing to do it when Kip and Nick got their just desserts in the locker room, will he expect “The Matriarch” to do what he wouldn't? The Opps aim to put an end to The Patriarchy tonight in Phoenix, and who knows what the future may bring? No matter who comes out of this one with the victory, it's reasonable to think their eyes may fall on the trios prize currently in the camp of The Death Riders!
FACE-TO-FACE...
Last week in Texas, after circling one another for the last month, MJF and Hangman Page finally came to blows in the center of the ring. It could've been left backstage when the two went nose-to-nose, but Maxwell had to go and assault “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes after he'd already scored a victory over the legendary competitor. Hangman wasn't having any of it, and it led to the following brawl between the two former World Champions:
It's been 1911 days since the first, and only, time these two competitors went one-on-one and that was the night MJF won the Dynamite Diamond Ring for the very first time. It has been 1512 days since the last time Maxwell Jacob Friedman and Adam Page fought inside the ring, that night in the form of a trios battle won by Page's unit. While this face-to-face situation set for tonight in Phoenix may not be a match, it's important to note just how long it's been since these AEW originals fought one another especially if they continue down this road that seems inevitably destined for sanctioned combat. The animosity between the two clearly never abated, hence the low-hanging fruit jabs MJF took at Hangman before their brawl, but is questioning whether or not Hangman has the “stomach for this” the wisest of choices? If Max is brave enough, before he and Hangman meet tonight, MJF should go ask Swerve Strickland if he thinks Adam Page has the stomach for it...
ONE-ON-ONE...
Kris Statlander vs. Megan Bayne
It's a match fans have been clamoring for since the moment Megan Bayne returned to AEW as a participant in the GRAND SLAM: AUSTRALIA Casino Gauntlet Match and went toe-to-toe with Kris Statlander. Bayne clearly isn't here to make friends, evident by her interactions with Thunder Rosa in particular, and in the attack she perpetrated on Statlander following the former TBS Champion's victory over Penelope Ford.
Well Stat is going to have to wait long to even the score with Bayne because tonight in Phoenix the two competitors will clash for the very first-time anywhere! It's a huge opportunity for Megan Bayne to skyrocket her AEW profile in just one night, or for Kris Statlander to shut down Bayne's rising star in its infancy. Who will have their hand raised tonight on DYNAMITE?
DYNAMITE hails from the Arizona Financial Theatre in Phoenix for the very first time, and the night will kick-off at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT streaming on MAX, as well as on TBS, and around the world via AEW PLUS and TSN in Canada!
