AEW Dynamite Preview for March 19, 2025

DYNASTY 2025 is coming fast and All Elite Wrestling is red-hot as we journey towards Philadelphia on April 6th! Tonight we debut in Omaha, NE at the Liberty First Credit Union Arena for a live DYNAMITE followed by COLLISION: SLAM DUNK tapings for Saturday and Sunday! We know that the AEW World Championship will be defended against Swerve Strickland at DYNASTY 2025 and we know that AEW International Champion Kenny Omega will put his title on the line that night as well. What we don't know is who the World Champion will be come April 6th, and we don't know who Omega's challenger will be either. Tonight, we learn the answer to both of those questions as Jon Moxley defends his World Title against “The Rated R Superstar” Cope in a Street Fight and four men battle it out to see which one advances to DYNASTY 2025 to face Omega! In addition, the AEW faithful will see a battle of titans as Megan Bayne clashes with former TBS Champion Kris Statlander in a rematch of their February fight!

DYNAMITE begins at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT streaming on MAX, as well as on TBS, and can be seen around the world via AEW PLUS. Prior to the night getting underway, drop by the official AEW YouTube channel to catch-up on highlights from REVOLUTION 2025, previous editions of DYNAMITE and COLLISION, Hey!(EW) with Mark Davis, and so much more content from All Elite Wrestling! Fans in attendance will also get to experience COLLISION before the rest of the world including the TNT Championship rematch between Daniel Garcia and Adam Cole plus a Lucha tag team battle pitting LFI of The Beast Mortos & Dralistico against Los Titanes del Aire (ROH World TV Champion Komander & Hologram)! Then it's off to St. Paul next Wednesday night for DYNAMITE from the Roy Wilkins Auditorium!

AEW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP STREET FIGHT...

Jon Moxley(c) vs. “The Rated R Superstar” Cope

AT REVOLUTION 2025 “The Patriarch” Christian Cage finally signed his name across the dotted line on the contract for a World Championship match he'd been holding on to since ALL IN: LONDON 2024. He'd come close to turning over his title opportunity on several occasions, but it wasn't until his loathed former best friend Cope had his opportunity that Christian Cage finally took his shot. Unfortunately for him and “The Rated R Superstar” both, that play backfired and it was Christian who Jon Moxley choked into unconsciousness to retain his World Title.

If Christian's goal was to screw over Cope en route to becoming the new AEW World Champion, well he at least accomplished part of that goal, albeit temporarily, as it was announced just days later on last week's DYNAMITE that “The Rated R Superstar” would get his rematch with Moxley tonight and in a Street Fight no less! Fans know what that means - rules are out the window and anything could happen in this contest. We now know unequivocally where Wheeler Yuta stands, and though we haven't seen the rest of The Death Riders since Cope (along with Willow Nightingale) took them out of the equation, there's no question that they'll rear their heads before too long as well. At least we know Cope has a support system of his own with friends like FTR, and allies such as “Switchblade” Jay White and #1 Contender Swerve Strickland. Hopefully they will be on-hand to balance the scales should anyone try to sway the contest in Moxley's favor.

If all else is equal this match is either man's ball game, especially given the Street Fight rules, which means tonight in Omaha All Elite Wrestling could be free of The Death Riders' grip on the AEW World Championship after five months of Moxley's stranglehold! In a one-on-one situation, can “The Rated R Superstar” succeed where Bryan Danielson, Orange Cassidy, and Powerhouse Hobbs failed?

DYNASTY 2025 INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP ELIMINATOR TOURNAMENT...

“Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy vs. Speedball Mike Bailey vs. The Don Callis Family's Mark Davis vs. Ricochet

Tonight in Omaha four men will vie for the opportunity to face “The Cleaner” Kenny Omega at DYNASTY 2025 with the AEW International Championship at stake! Each one went through a tremendous battle last week to get to this point, but that was only step one in each man's journey to dethrone AEW's only Grand Slam champion just as his championship reign is getting started.

Last week on DYNAMITE fans witnessed 2-Time International Champion Orange Cassidy go to battle with CMLL's "El Alquimista del Ring" Hechicero to earn his spot in this 4-Way while Speedball Mike Bailey made his AEW debut and overcame the onslaught of LFI's The Beast Mortos to advance. Meanwhile, on COLLISION, Ricochet found a way to leverage a victory over “The Wrestler” Kastuyori Shibata as Mark Davis (with some help from Murder Machines) topped Mark Briscoe to make it to tonight's battle.

So who will step up to that next level and advance to fight Kenny Omega in Philadelphia? Let's look at each one individually. For Orange Cassidy, not only is it an opportunity to become the first 3-Time International Champion, it's also a chance to step into the ring with Kenny Omega for the first time since DOUBLE OR NOTHING 2021 as well as his first opportunity to do so one-on-one. For Speedball Mike Bailey it's a tremendous opportunity to make an immediate impact on All Elite Wrestling. Not only could he head into a title fight at DYNASTY 2025, but much like Orange Cassidy, it's a chance to redeem a loss to Kenny Omega, in Speedball's case way back at PWG's ALL STAR WEEKEND 11 nearly a decade ago on December 11, 2015. Mark Davis' only engagement with Kenny took place two and a half years ago in the inaugural World Trios Tournament where he, Will Ospreay, and Kyle Fletcher lost to Omega and The Young Bucks in the Semifinals. However he is carrying the expectations of The Don Callis Family and its namesakes' desire to bring the championship back to the fold while exacting violent retribution on “The Cleaner”.

Then there is Ricochet, the man most familiar with Kenny Omega when it comes to in-ring competition, and the only one of these four men who holds a singles victory over the International Champion. At PWG's 2014 BATTLE OF LOS ANGELES Ricochet defeated Kenny Omega during the Semifinals en route to winning the entire tournament, but that wasn't their only encounter. A year prior, at NJPW's BEST OF THE SUPER JUNIOR XX PRELUDE, the two actually teamed up to defeat TAKA Michinoku and Taichi. They had several more encounters between 2015 and 2016, all in multi-man competition, but it was their last on the July 3rd NJPW KIZUNA ROAD 2016 event where Ricochet teamed with Matt Sydal and Satoshi Kojima to dethrone The Elite as NEVER Openweight Six-Man Champions that really bolsters Ricochet's hopes if he makes it out of this four-way as the victor.

Those stats against Omega may give Ricochet added confidence in this match, but it may come down to which of the four has the best standings when it comes to this type of matches. Just looking at AEW competition, Ricochet is 0-1 in this vein of multi-man competition with his WRESTLEDREAM 2024 International Champion loss to Konosuke Takeshita in a three-way that also included Will Ospreay. Despite first coming to AEW almost three years ago, Mark Davis has never been in a Three- or Four-Way battle, and this is in fact just his third singles match. Given he made his debut just last week, obviously Speedball Mike Bailey has never been in an AEW multi-man match. Then there is Orange Cassidy who, over the course of his AEW career, has been in nine Three-Way/Four-Way matches and has four victories to his credit, including three championship defenses. Statistically speaking, he's the favorite to win this, and if Orange scores the victory, it would also make him the first person in all of AEW to achieve the 100-win milestone as a singles wrestler. It's a feat achieved by several men and women in their overall standing, but none have cracked that solely with their singles record. Orange could be the first, just as he was the first to achieve 100-overall wins, and net an International Championship bout in the process!

Who will rise to the occasion tonight on DYNAMITE and bring the fight to Kenny Omega at DYNASTY 2025?

GRUDGE MATCH...

Kris Statlander vs. Megan Bayne

Since her return to AEW as part of the GRAND SLAM: AUSTRALIA Casino Gauntlet, Megan Bayne has put the AEW Women's Division on notice. Without uttering a word as of yet, this powerhouse has dominated nearly everyone she's been in the ring with, and those like Thunder Rosa and Kris Statlander who've given as good as they've got have still felt the sting of defeat at Bayne's hands. She's won five straight matches (four singles & one tag), shown no fear in assaulting anyone she chooses outside of a match, and very loudly declared her intentions for “Timeless” Toni Storm and the AEW Women's World Championship last week on DYNAMITE before laying out both Statlander and Willow Nightingale.

Megan Bayne has been destruction unleashed upon the women of AEW, and she's seems to have struck fear in the hearts of those she's bested. If you notice, Kris Statlander didn't physically engage with Bayne on COLLISION when she ran down to check on Thunder Rosa's condition, and she only arrived after Toni Storm unsuccessfully attempted to handle the situation. Yet credit goes to Statlander. If she's developed a fear of Bayne after losing to her last month in their first singles match, the former TBS Champion is facing it tonight when she gets back in the ring with Megan Bayne. This is no doubt a concerted effort to try and balance the scales for all the damage Bayne's inflicted these last two months!

Will Stat end up a repeat victim of Fate's Descent as Bayne pursues the AEW Women's World Champion? Or can the former TBS Champion find a way to overcome a woman perhaps even more powerful than her?

COLLISON: SLAM DUNK...

TNT Championship Match...

Daniel Garcia(c) vs. Adam Cole

***EVERYONE BANNED FROM RINGSIDE***

On the March 1st COLLISION Adam Cole took his first shot at TNT Champion Daniel Garcia, a title opportunity earned when Cole pinned Garcia during the February 26th Trios match pitting Undisputed Kingdom against Garcia and FTR. Unfortunately that TNT Championship bout was ruined by Shane Taylor Promotions assaulting both champion and challenger to bring about a No Contest. Garcia got his revenge for that, defeating ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty in a TNT Title defense one week later, but it still left the issues between Garcia and Cole quite unresolved.

Hopefully that resolution comes in Omaha when, as part of COLLISION: SLAM DUNK SATURDAY, Daniel Garcia faces Adam Cole once more, only this time everyone is banned from ringside! No Undisputed Kingdom, no FTR, not Daddy Magic or Cool Hand Ang, and perhaps most importantly, no Shane Taylor Promotions! This is the chance Cole and Garcia have to prove just who is the better man! Can Cole finally claim his first AEW championship in Omaha, or will Daniel Garcia continue his quest to be the best to ever hold the belt? Those in attendance tonight will get the opportunity to watch it unfold before the rest of the world!

TAG TEAM GRUDGE MATCH...

LFI (Dralistico & The Beast Mortos) vs. Los Titanes del Aire (ROH World TV Champion Komander & Hologram)

LFI's Dralistico and The Beast Mortos are in store for a high-flying fight tonight in Omaha when Los Titanes del Aire (ROH World TV Champion Komander and the undefeated Hologram) unite to face their mutual foes! It's set to be part of COLLISION: SLAM DUNK SUNDAY, but those in attendance for DYNAMITE tonight will get to experience it first! Hologram and Komander looked tremendous as team with the victory during the REVOLUTION 2025: ZERO HOUR, but can even their amazing aerial abilities handle the ruthlessness of LFI? Then again, one could also question if The Beast Mortos can keep himself focused with all this Harleygram business going on as of late?

DYNAMITE explodes onto MAX and TBS at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT, not to mention around the world via AEW PLUS, and we've got a huge AEW World Championship Street Fight on tap between The Death Riders' Jon Moxley and “The Rated R Superstar” Cope! Plus, AEW International Champion Kenny Omega's challenger for DYNASTY 2025 will be determined when Orange Cassidy, Speedball Mike Bailey, The DCF's Mark Davis, and Ricochet clash in a Four-Way battle and Kris Statlander looks to even the score with Megan Bayne after the events of last Saturday night. Before the show gets started, be sure to visit AEW's official YouTube channel to watch highlights from last week's editions of DYNAMITE and COLLISION, REVOLUTION 2025, Hey!(EW) with Mark Davis, and much, much more from AEW! In addition to DYNAMITE, fans in Omaha will be able to watch this weekend's COLLISION editions before anyone else, including a TNT Championship rematch between Daniel Garcia and Adam Cole as well as a Lucha tag team grudge match between LFI' s The Beast Mortos & Dralistico and Los Titanes del Aire (ROH World TV Champion Komander & the undefeated Hologram). Following that, AEW debuts in St. Paul at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium on next Wednesday night for an all-new DYNAMITE!
