Welcome to AEW DYNASTY week! AEW DYNAMITE was broadcast on TBS and streamed on MAX live from the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, IL!
Excalibur, “The Human Suplex Machine” Taz, and Tony Schiavone were the broadcast team for tonight’s event.
It’s Wednesday night and you know what that means!
Mixed Tornado Tag Match!
AEW World Champion Jon Moxley & Marina Shafir
vs.
Swerve Strickland & Willow Nightingale!
Mox and Swerve brawled while Willow and Marina paired off! All four competitors were going at it. Swerve whipped Mox into the barricade. Moxley winged a chair into Swerve’s face. Marina nailed Willow with a snap suplex. Mox and Marina set up a table. Marina hurled Willow with Judo throws in the ring. Swerve reversed Moxley and sent Mox into the steel ring steps!
Swerve executed a beautiful dropkick in the ring. Willow followed up with two boots to Mox’s chest. Swerve connected with a flying European uppercut. Mox stunned Swerve with a cutter out of nowhere.
Marina isolated Willow and inflicted punishment in the corner. Willow pounded Marina with strikes, but Marina used a hip lock throw. Marina power bombed Willow off the apron and through the table on the arena floor!
Marina and Mox gouged their fingernails into Swerve. Willow came up behind them and power bombed Marina and Mox at the same time! Willow blasted Moxley with a running cannonball! Willow planted Marina with a spinebuster for a near fall!
Moxley and Swerve traded strikes in the center of the ring. Moxley brought Swerve down into a rear lock sleeper. Marina held Willow at bay. Willow picked up Marina and power bombed her onto Moxley!
The fans chanted “This is awesome! This is awesome!”
Swerve nailed Moxley with a flatliner. Swerve went for the House Call, but Marina pushed Mox out of the way and took the bullet for the champ! Willow power bombed Marina and scored the pinfall victory for her team! Moxley entered the ring and drilled Willow with a DDT!
“That was absolutely disgusting by Moxley,” said Excalibur.
Renee Paquette interviewed FTR earlier in the day!
Dax apologized to ref Paul Turner and paid the fine money directly to Paul Turner, apologizing. Dax said he and Cash would put their issues aside before Sunday and that they love each other like brothers. Dax apologized to Cash and said he didn’t push him on purpose on Collision. Dax went to hug Cash, but Cash said, “We are brothers, we will be fine, but after Sunday, we have to talk.”
The Owen Hart Foundation Tournament kicks off this Sunday, and the brackets were revealed.
Kevin Knight is replacing the injured “Switchblade” Jay White!
AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm (with Luther The Butler)
vs.
Penelope Ford!
Storm pounded on Penelope in the corner, showing her frustration. Storm nailed Ford with a back breaker. Storm followed up with a fisherman’s suplex for a near fall.
Ford smashed Storm with a double knee drop and then mocked Storm. Ford used her flexibility to take the champion down with a high boot!
Penelope used a handspring back elbow and then a pump kick, rocking Storm. Ford went to bite Storm and Storm bit Ford’s tongue. Storm used a body press and then a back drop suplex on the challenger. Storm used the hip attack and then planted Penelope with a DDT, but Ford kick out at the two-count.
Penelope moonsaulted off the apron and onto Toni Storm on the arena floor. Ford stunned Storm with a gut buster for a near fall. The champion smashed Ford with the Storm Zero and picked up the 1-2-3!
Megan Bayne walked out onto the ramp with a sarcastic clap for Toni Storm, mocking the champion.
Renee Paquette was backstage trying to get a medical update on Willow!
Swerve: “You know, Willow is strong and brave. That’s why I didn’t mind facing off against the Death Riders with her. She welcomed the challenge. But Jon, knowing the history of neck issues that Willow has, and you still chose to do what you did tonight? Now you’re on the hunt. I’m not resting until I have my hands on Jon Moxley tonight! By the end of tonight I will have my hands on Jon Moxley, I promise you!”
MVP and AEW World Tag Team Champion Bobby Lashley of the Hurt Syndicate came out next!
MJF came out before Bobby Lashley could say a word on the microphone!
MJF: “Cut my music, cut my music. Pardon the interruption. If we’re being honest here, you kind of disrespected me last week, Bob. Allow me to formally introduce myself. I’m MJF and I am a generational talent. I know about you and Shelton Benjamin. Shelton, I know you had some travel issues, but I’ll see you down the road.
“We all know about Bobby Lashley. However, this is AEW and baby you’re standing on the block I built. Now I know this place like the back of my hand. I know how to get to the top and stay on top and I can help you and Shelton hold onto those Tag Team Titles as long as you want. And cards on the table, I know you can help me get back my AEW World Championship. Basically what I’m getting at here Bobby is MJF and the Hurt Syndication is just good business.
“What I’m getting at is this: you might not want MJF, but Bobby, you need MJF.”
Bobby: “Let’s be really clear here. Out of respect for MVP, I’m not going to leave you laying here right now. I don’t like you. I don’t trust you. And the Hurt Syndicate does not need you. So unless you prove otherwise, you need to get out of my face right now.”
MJF: “You want me to prove myself, ok.”
MJF left the ring.

vs. two local wrestlers!
Big Bill body slammed one of the competitors over the top rope at the feet of Bobby Lashley. Big Bill grabbed the other wrestler and choke slammed him, scoring a decisive victory!
Big Bill: “On Collision we whooped Top Flight’s ass and on Sunday we’re going to whoop your ass because we want that match for the AEW World Tag Team Championships!”
Renee Paquette was backstage with TBS Champion Mercedes Mone!
“I’ll be facing Julia Hart this Sunday in the first round of the Owen. It’s going to take a lot more than tricks and spells to stop me!”
“The Aerial Assassin” Will Ospreay & “The Jet” Kevin Knight
vs.
Blake Christian & Lee Johnson!
Ospreay saved Knight from a double suplex. Kevin and Will took flight, jumping over the top rope and crashing onto the opposition. Blake speared Will on the apron.
Will took to the skies with a double cross body press to Lee and Blake! Ospreay connected with a corkscrew kick to Blake. Lee pulled Ospreay out of the ring and Blake nailed Will with a corkscrew tope, followed by a 450 stomp! Kevin Knight landed a springboard lariat on Lee and pinned him!
Tony Schiavone announced that Will and Kevin will face each other in the first round of the Owen this Sunday at DYNASTY!
The Opps had a message!
Samoa Joe: “A lot of you may be wondering why we started this group in the first place. I knew when I came back to the battlefield, I needed to bring a different arsenal. At Dynasty, we will be watching and seeing all. And please, don’t let us catch you lacking.”
The Hounds of Hell’s Brody King
vs. The Don Callis Family’s “The MurderHawk Monster” Lance Archer!
Brody and Lance bludgeoned one another with big meaty chops. Archer jumped off the apron with a cannonball onto Brody. Brody sidestepped Archer and charged at him with a running splash against the guardrail!
Don Callis distracted Brody long enough for Archer to kick Brody. Archer drove Brody into the steel ring steps. The match was a total slugfest!
Brody nailed Archer with a German suplex. Brody used a cross body press and then scoop slammed Archer. Brody sat out with a senton for a near fall on Archer.
Archer retaliated with a side walk slam. Archer choke slammed Brody King but Brody kicked out at the two-count. Brody rallied back with a running cannonball.
The fans chanted “Fight forever! Fight forever!”
Brody swung for the fences with a lariat and pinned Archer!
Main Event Time!
“The Rated R Superstar” Cope
vs.
AEW World Trios Champion The Death Riders’ Claudio Castagnoli!
Claudio charged Cope in the corner, landing an early shot. Claudio stomped on Cope, continuing the assault. Claudio whipped Cope into the barricade.
Now it was Cope on the attack. Cope hammered Claudio with forearm shots. Cope clobbered him with a short arm lariat. Cope speared Claudio through the ropes and to the arena floor!
“Cope is willing to take those risks,” said Schiavone.
Cope went for a tope, but Claudio countered with a European uppercut. Cope fired back with a diving bulldog off the top turnbuckle. Claudio poked Cope in the eyes and then hit him with a double stomp. Claudio but Cope in the Giant Swing!
Cope spiked Claudio with the Impaler but Claudio kicked out at the two-count! Claudio locked on a sharp shooter! Claudio transitioned to the cross face. Cope escaped and applied the Grindhouse. Claudio reached the ropes to break the hold.
Claudio powerslammed Cope on the apron and then through Cope over the barricade. Cope made it back to the ring. Cope booted Claudio in the jaw. Cope went for a spear, but Claudio caught him with an uppercut and then the Neutralizer for a near fall!
Claudio grabbed two steel chairs and was looking to set up Cope for the con-chair-to. As the ref pulled one of the chairs away, Cope hit Claudio with a low blow. The ref never saw it! Cope speared Claudio and earned the hard fought victory!
Renee Paquette was backstage trying to get a medical update on Willow.
Swerve: “With all due respect, Renee, I’m looking for your husband right now.”
Hangman Adam Page approached Swerve and told Swerve he was wasting his time! Hangman said Swerve deserved his house being burned down and Swerve agreed. Hangman walked away. Moxley and the Death Riders ambushed Swerve! They swarmed Swerve and pulled him to the ring!
The Death Riders held back Swerve as Mox taunted Swerve. Wheeler Yuta emptied a bucket of glass shards. Claudio power bombed Swerve onto the glass! Swerve sat up and sneered at Moxley as Mox and the Death Riders left through the crowd!
