CONTAINS SPOILERS

AEW DYNAMITE was broadcast on TBS and streamed on MAX live from the Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena in Baltimore, MD!

Excalibur, “The Human Suplex Machine” Taz, and Tony Schiavone were the broadcast team for tonight’s event.

It’s Wednesday night and you know what that means!

AEW World Champion Jon Moxley and the Death Riders were backstage with words of warning!

Jon Moxley: “The single greatest roster of pure talent ever assembled under one roof every week on AEW Dynamite. So why can’t any of these guys get their act together. They excuse themselves and seek comfort without addressing the problem. You don’t want it. We will scorch the earth before we give a single inch.

“Matt and Nick Jackson have returned. I don’t recognize you two anymore. You’d better be really careful before you make any moves.”

Your opening contest: AEW World Champion Jon Moxley (with Marina Shafir)

vs. “The Wrestler” Katsuyori Shibata!

Shibata and Mox chain wrestled to begin the match. Mox backed Shibata into the corner and Shibata chopped him. They traded strikes in the center of the ring. Shibata didn’t even budge when he got it. Moxley was wincing and giving ground. Moxley booted Shibata in the side of the face. Shibata used a back heel trip to sweep Mox to the mat.

Shibata applied a flying octopus hold. Mox escaped. Shibata was right there to boot Mox in the head. Shibata charged at the champion with a running dropkick in the corner. Moxley fired back with a clubbing lariat. Mox spiked Shibata with a piledriver. Shibata popped up and nailed Mox with a PK! Mox grabbed Shibata with a rear naked choke, after raking Shibata in the eyes, and Shibata was put to sleep. Mox was declared the winner!

After the match, The Young Bucks—Matthew and Nicholas Jackson—approached the ring!

Moxley and Marina left the ring!

Nicholas: “Please give it up for your AEW World Champion Jon Moxley! And show some respect for the founding fathers of AEW, your EVPs! The whole world is wondering why we cost Swerve the heavyweight championship. Well, we’ve got a couple good reasons why we did what we did.

“We did it for our good friend. ‘Hangman’ Adam Page, you’re welcome. This is what you wanted all along. You never wanted Swerve to be the champion ever again. We did that for you. We don’t forget who our friends are.”

Matthew: “Moxley, I wish you would have stuck around to hear this. Moxley, Death Riders, what we did for you, we consider a peace offering. We’ve got no problem with you, and I hope you’ve got no problem with us. When we were sitting at home for months, we realized we’ve got more in common than you think.

“You want to change the world…just like us. And Jon, I’m impressed. Watching you, I saw you do what we could not do. You succeeded in taking over AEW. So last Sunday was our elevator pitch to you and the Death Riders. Could you imagine the team synergy if the Elite and the Death Riders were together as one? So Jon, I’m asking you to come out here with your boys and let’s further discuss a little business.”

Kenny Omega’s music hit, and Kenny walked down to the ring!

Omega: “So you did this all for your friends, huh? Mox. Hanger. You forgot to do me, but I remember the last time we met and if memory serves me correctly, it was when you pushed you off a stretcher that was taking me to a hospital. And I never forgot. When I came back to AEW I said it was for my legacy and the safety of this company. Not for revenge. What we’re trying to do is bring back the feeling.

“The last time we saw you on AEW we saw you shredding some documents. We all know how these guys live. They love bragging about their money. Yes, you were tearing up receipts of private jets and other luxury items, but it doesn’t matter. The part that matters is that if it wasn’t because of the Death Riders, it was you two that almost killed the company that I almost gave my life and soul for.

“Quite frankly, now that we’ve gotten to this point, I could go on and on. Let’s just cut out the middle man and I’ll come to the ring and fight.”

“The Rainmaker” Okada’s music began to play, and Okada came down to the ring! Swerve’s music hit next, and Swerve and Prince Nana jumped into the ring from behind. Okada and the Bucks retreated! Swerve and Omega fist bumped, showing respect to one another.

Swerve: “I now pronounce it is now buck hunting season! You couldn’t leave well enough alone, could you. I dealt with you last year!”

“The Bastard” Pac ambushed Swerve and kicked him from behind!

AEW World Trios Champion “The Bastard” PAC

vs.

Swerve Strickland!

Swerve swarmed Pac in the corner with strikes and followed up with the snake eyes and then a high boot to the jaw. Swerve whipped Pac into the steel barricades and then into the ring steps. Swerve buckle bombed Pac into the corner!

Pac injured his foot or leg and entered the ring. Swerve caught him with a thrust kick and then the Swerve Stomp to pick up the pin fall victory!

Renee Paquette was backstage to interview “Hangman” Adam Page!

Page stormed past her and looked for Swerve. He entered Swerve’s locker room, but only Prince Nana was present.

Page: “Hey Nana, tell Swerve if he thinks about getting involved next week, I will pick up where we left off.”

Prince Nana: “There is something I wanted to tell you for the last year. I can’t speak for Swerve, but I really regret—”

Page: “Stop that!”

$400,000 Explosive 8-Man Tag Match!

“Speedball” Mike Bailey, Will Ospreay, Mark Briscoe & Kevin Knight

vs.

Ricochet, The Beast Mortos, and CRU’s Action Andretti & Lio Rush!

Bailey tried for a hurracanrana on the Beast Mortos, but Mortos blocked it. Speedball followed up with a diving hurracanrana and this time was successful. Ospreay and Rush tagged in for their respective teams. Andretti snuck in to distract Ospreay and Rush took advantage of the momentum. CRU began to stomp on Will!

Things broke down as all eight men paired off! Team Ospreay got the upper hand. Speedball splashed Mortos with a running shooting star press. The Beast blocked a kick and planted Bailey with a lung blower!

Kevin Knight spiked Mortos with a DDT! Lio rocked Kevin with a stunner while Action followed up with a neck breaker. Ricochet rocked Bailey with a Death Valley Driver for a near fall! Ospreay staggered Mortos with an Os Cutter. Kevin connected with the UFO splash, but the pin fall attempt was broken up by the other team. Ospreay wasted no time drilling the Beast Mortos with the Hidden Blade and scored the victory for his team!

Next up: AEW World Tag Team Champions The Hurt Syndicate Celebration!

Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and MVP came down to the ring.

MVP: “Ladies and gentlemen of the AEW viewing audience, this is an official announcement from the Hurt Syndicate. Punks jump up to get beat down. Two more challengers stepped up and two more got beat down. So right now if you would all be so kind in joining me in a toast to celebrate yet another successful title defense.”

MJF came to the ring!

MJF: “Hey guys, I don’t know if you’ve heard, but we hurt people, baby. Look at us, dripping in gold, you’re welcome. Tony Khan wanted me to do the Owen Hart Tournament. I don’t think so! I work smarter, not harder. Now that I’m rolling with the Syndicate, I get to cut the line. I scratch your backs, and now you guys get to help little ol’ me.”

Lashley: “Shut up Max. Everybody saw what you did last weekend. You tried to help us, but you didn’t get the job done. So Max, that is yet another reason why we don’t need you.”

MJF: “It’s cool. Don’t point at me, Bob!”

MVP: “Everybody chill for a second. Max, we go way back. In order for you to join the Syndicate, you have to get three thumbs up. You guys already know how I feel. Shelton?”

Shelton gave the thumbs down, and the Hurt Syndicate left the ring, leaving a frustrated MJF by himself.

Renee Paquette was backstage with Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford!

Ford: “That was a taste of defeat on Sunday, but it changes nothing. Everything is just going to get worse. This division won’t move on because Megan won’t let it.”

Bayne: “I will make you all bow down.”

2025 Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Quarterfinal Match!

Thunder Rosa vs. Kris Statlander!

AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm was on commentary for this match.

Statlander used a dropkick to take down Thunder Rosa. Thunder Rosa fired back with a powerful roundhouse kick. Thunder Rosa charged at Kris and drove her to the floor with a running dropkick.

Kris spiked Thunder Rosa with a DDT. Thunder Rosa blasted Kris with a destroyer for a near fall! Kris crunched Thunder Rosa with the Staturday Night Fever and pinned Thunder Rosa, advancing in the tournament!

Don Callis was backstage with Kyle Fletcher and Takeshita!

Callis: “The Protostar here already beat Mark Briscoe. And the Alpha will beat Brody King. The Don Callis Family, given the rash of injuries taking place, is accepting potential new members.”

TNT Champion Adam Cole was backstage with Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong!

Roddy: “I think it’s about time we have our moment, Kyle.”

Kyle: “And you will, Roddy. I stand before you the face of TNT, your new TNT Champion, and this is just the start of it for us. We are the paragon, and that is undisputed.”

Next up: TV Time With The Learning Tree—Chris Jericho!

Jericho: “I am the legendary Chris Jericho. But I am no longer the ROH World Champion. On Sunday I lost my match, I lost my tooth, and I lost my title. And even though that’s very disappointing to me, I have to give credit where credit is due. Congrats Bandido, you pulled it off. After months of conflict, Bandido was victorious, of course with the intrusive assistance of his sister and his mother. But I get it. He’s got his family, and I’ve got mine. So I’m going to bring them out right now. Please welcome Big Bill and Bryan Keith.

“I was hoping that all three of us would have championships here tonight. You didn’t win at Dynasty. And that’s why I wanted to—”

Big Bill: “Look Chris, I already know what you’re going to say. You’re angry. You have every right to be angry. I’m angry. In fact I’ve been getting really angry a lot lately. You need to hear this. Chris, I have the utmost respect for you. That is why I decided to join the Learning Tree, because I wanted to learn from you. But I did not sign up to be your punching bag whenever things go wrong. So, if we are out here so that you can teach us something, by all means, go ahead, teach. But if we are out here so you can berate us, then let me know right now and I can leave. And I know Bryan feels the same exact way.”

Jericho: “Do ya, Bryan? Because that’s not why I brought either one of you out here. I believe in you and when I said I wanted you to win the World Tag Team Championships, I meant it. I handpicked both of you to stand by me and teach you. You have potential. You’re future world champions. Your victories are my victories, and your failures are my failures. I lost the ROH World Championship on Sunday and you weren’t there. Some might say it’s your fault I lost that match. But I’m not saying that. I don’t believe that at all. It’s okay. I’m not angry. I’m just disappointed.”

Jericho began to smash the TV monitor with his baseball bat!

Jericho: “I’m disappointed in you! And until you change that, I think it’s best that I leave.”

Alicia Atout was backstage with the Hurt Syndicate!

Bobby: “I don’t like MJF, and we don’t need him.”

Shelton: “You’re right, we don’t need anybody, but little George Costanza is kind of funny.”

MJF: I’m a little bit perturbed. Why do I keep getting treated like some punk?”

MVP: “They know who you are. But this is business. And in the world of business, you get your consumer, you find what they want, and you give it to them.”

The Death Riders’ Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta

vs.

The Opps’ HOOK & Samoa Joe!

Claudio scoop slammed Hook. Yuta went for a cross body, but Hook moved out of the way. Hook took Yuta for a ride with three consecutive German suplexes. Yua grabbed Hook’s boot and tried to pull him out of the ring. Claudio squashed Hook with a double foot stomp on the apron!

Hook hurled Claudio with a T-bone suplex. Yuta tagged in and Hook took him over the top with a suplex. Claudio bulldozed Hook with a European uppercut. Yuta and Claudio used tandem offense on Hook for a near fall.

Hook was about to lock Yuta in the Red Rum when Jon Moxley came down to the ring to distract the opposition. Shibata sprinted down to even up the odds. Shibata put Mox in a choke hold. Hook locked on the Red Rum and Yuta tapped out!

After the match, Marina jumped in the ring with a steel chair and hit Samoa Joe with a cheap shot! Claudio planted Hook with the Neutralizer on a steel chair! The Death Riders, smirking, ran off before the Opps could get to them!

Samoa Joe: “Death Riders! You cowardly SOBs! We came here to get into a fist fight, and it seems like the Death Riders are cowards. So I say we make it really simple. The Opps versus the Death Riders and we’re coming for the Trios championship!”
