AEW Dynamite

CONTAINS SPOILERS

AEW DYNAMITE was broadcast live on TBS from the SAP Center in San Jose, CA!

Excalibur, Nigel McGuinness, and Tony Schiavone were the broadcast team for tonight’s event.

It’s Wednesday night and you know what that means!

You know it’s all about the BOOM!

Adam Cole kicked off the show, making his way to the ring!

Adam Cole: “I think I know the answer, but who’s ready for story time with Adam Cole, baybay? I want to talk about the worst human being I’ve ever met, and his name is MJF! Life is full of shades of gray and if I’ve learned anything over the past 12 months it’s that sometimes you have to fight evil with evil.

“MJF will tell you I destroyed his trust and broke a promise. Without trust you have nothing. I may be a lot of things, but stupid is not one of them. Anyone who thinks you should trust a guy like MJF is stupid. The MJF we see now is the real MJF. The one who has terrorized this company for five years. He only cares about himself. That is the real MJF.

“If I could describe MJF in one word it’s quite simple: fake. His hair and his brash attitude is fake. He’s a scared, insecure little boy. MJF can’t be trusted and everyone in that locker room is smiling and agreeing with everything I’m saying.

“And I do want to talk about our locker room because we have the best professional wrestlers in the world. It makes me sick to imagine the young talent looking at MJF and thinking that that is the path to success. MJF thinks that he’s someone special. He thinks that he’s the best there’s ever been in AEW. I swear with every fiber in my being, everybody hates you. I hate everything that you stand for.

“Max I’ve got an idea. Let’s not waste anymore time. How about right here, you bring yourself down this ramp and show me what kind of man you are!”

MJF’s music began to play, and he appeared on the big screen above the ramp.

MJF: “I’ve done a lot of growing, and I’ve learned a lot in the last decade. In this sport there is no such thing as trust. There are a lot of jackals. You tricked me and stabbed me in my back. Because of you I can never trust, and I will never trust again. The man I am today isn’t my fault. It’s yours. Yet these people cheer you. Typical. You’ll never get me inside that ring. You will die with a void of unfulfilled vengeance and for that empty, sad, cold little life, you can thank me later.”

Adam Cole: “Ok, Max, but you know I mean this when I say it. You can run but you can’t hide. When I get my hands on you, I will give you the ass beating of a lifetime and make you wish we never met!”

Renee Paquette interviewed ROH World Champion Mark Briscoe and asked for his reaction to Chris Jericho saying Briscoe cheated at WrestleDream!

Briscoe: “I can’t let Chris Jericho let my brother’s name come out of his mouth again! You’ve got your rematch. But we’ve got to crank it up. Next week on Dynamite, Mark Briscoe against Chris Jericho on Dynamite in a Ladder War!”

FTR—Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler

vs.

“The Redwood” Big Bill & “Bad Apple” Bryan Keith!

Keith took down Dax with a lariat. Dax fired back with a snap suplex. Cash jumped over with a shoulder tackle on the Bad Apple for a near fall. Keith tagged out to Big Bill, who sauntered into the ring.

Big Bill blasted Cash with chops. Cash staggered Big Bill with a dropkick and an uppercut. Big Bill planted Cash with a Bossman slam! Dax tagged in but was greeted with a lariat from Big Bill. The Redwood blocked the Shatter Machine attempt and power bombed Dax Harwood! FTR rallied back, showing off their synergy, and planted Bryan Keith with the Shatter Machine and scored the pin!

LFI were watching the match backstage!

The Outrunners—Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd—came down to the ring to help FTR celebrate.

Renee Paquette was backstage with The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass!

MVP and Shelton Benjamin interrupted them after Daddy Ass went to get the car. MVP gave Caster MVP’s card and told them to give him a call when they were ready to get serious.

TBS Championship Match!

TBS Champion & NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion “The CEO” Mercedes Moné (with Kamille)

vs.

Queen Aminata!

Aminata captured the champion midair and countered with a fallaway slam. Queen Aminata headbutted Kamille, who tried to assist Mercedes. The champion smashed Queen Aminata with a running knee strike as Queen Aminata was distracted by Kamille.

Queen Aminata drove the champion down with an air raid crash for a near fall. Queen Aminata followed up with a violent snapping neck breaker, but Mercedes kicked out at the two-count.

Mercedes was dazed by a snapping suplex. Mercedes lured in the challenger and clocked her with a knee strike. Mercedes applied the Statement Maker in the center of the ring and forced Queen Aminata to tap out!

“That was a great win for the veteran,” said Tony Schiavone.

“A near perfect performance by the champion,” added Nigel.

Renee Paquette was backstage with Private Party, who asked for the Young Bucks to meet with them!

Quen: “We want another shot at the AEW World Championships.”

Matthew: “That was one of our toughest title defenses ever but…”

Nicholas: “That doesn’t work for us, brother.”

The Bucks walked away and Stokely Hathaway interrupted. Stokely said “Everyone knows Isiah is a singles star, but that’s none of my business.”

Kassidy looked at Marq Quen and said, “If that’s what it takes.”

The Elite were backstage and TNT Champion “Scapegoat” Jack Perry said they had to acknowledge today was Kenny Omega’s birthday.

Perry: “Get well soon, Kenny, or die. I really don’t care.”

Trios Match!

The Conglomeration vs. The Elite!

Kyle O’Reilly, “Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy, & Rocky Romero

vs.

AEW Continental Champion “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada & AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks—Matthew & Nicholas Jackson!

Okada rocked Cassidy and Kyle with an elbow strike. Rocky jumped in and wiped out Okada with a shot. Kyle cracked Okada with combination strikes. Matthew jumped into the ring, but Kyle took down both Bucks. Kyle countered a rainmaker attempt with a guillotine, but Matthew Jackson dropped an elbow from the top turnbuckle. Okada covered Kyle for a near fall.

Okada nailed O’Reilly with a neck breaker. Rocky came in and cleaned house on the Elite. Okada spiked Rocky with a tombstone piledriver. The Bucks pumped their Reeboks. Orange used a double hurracanrana on the Bucks and then a stun dog millionaire on Okada.

Orange pumped Matthew with a DDT. Wheeler Yuta jumped in the ring and blindsided Orange Cassidy. Claudio Castagnoli and PAC ambushed the Conglomeration while the Elite looked on in confusion.

New AEW World Champion Jon Moxley joined the beating of Orange. Dante Martin and the rest of Top Flight sprinted to the ring but Moxley and his crew were too much. Okada and the Bucks stood on the ramp and watched things unfold. More members of the locker room, including the Dark Order, tried to stop Moxley and his cohorts, but Mox, Marina, Claudio, Pac, and Wheeler couldn’t be stopped.

Moxley: “If you’re involved with All Elite Wrestling, you’re under attack. This is just the cost of doing business!”

“They set their sights on Orange Cassidy, the man who has been the face of AEW,” said Tony Schiavone.

Cameras caught up with The Elite backstage!

Matthew: “What happened out there is none of our business!”

Daniel Garcia: “You built this place five years ago and now you’re going to watch it go down in flames? How ‘bout you help out?”

Private Party formed an alliance with Garcia and they agreed to watch each other’s backs.

Shelton Benjamin (with MVP)

vs.

Lio Rush!

Rush got rocked by a massive knee strike from Benjamin. Shelton Benjamin hurled Lio with a belly to belly suplex on the floor! Lio Rush dodged a splash. Lio staggered Shelton with a stunner. Lio connected with two tope suicidas!

Lio climbed to the top turnbuckle, but Shelton avoided a frog splash and fired back with a kick. Lio Rush spiked Shelton with a DDT but Shelton kicked out at the two-count.

Shelton Benjamin suplexed Lio from the top rope. Shelton hurled Lio with a German Suplex. Shelton drilled Lio with a thrust kick. Shelton planted Rush with an exploder power slam and then scored the pin.

“A dominant performance for his in-ring debut tonight,” said Excalibur.

MVP: “Lio Rush in his youthful exuberance opened up his mouth, and Shelton closed it. Good try, Lio, good try. Swerve Strickland, I know you’re watching, and I want you to know that you need to reconsider your position because this is your future. And I believe that we need to finish the conversation that we started at Wrestle Dream. You and the standard of excellence, Shelton Benjamin!”

Renee Paquette was backstage with Swerve Strickland!

Swerve: “You want to come at the big dog here in All Elite Wrestling? Your answer? Yes, anywhere. Make it happen. You’re coming at the most dangerous man in AEW. Don’t fail, because I sure as hell won’t.”

Tony Schiavone was in the ring for the press conference for Don Callis and The Don Callis Family’s AEW International Champion “The Alpha” Konosuke Takeshita!

Don Callis was flanked by ROH World TV Champion “The Machine” Brian Cage and “The MurderHawk Monster” Lance Archer.

Callis: “Ladies and gentlemen I have something important to say. I thought we should have a press conference but there are no real journalists in pro wrestling, so I figured I’d conduct the press conference myself. Who better to take the tag titles than Archer and Cage. But there’s more good news to come. I present to you Kyle Fletcher and the new AEW International Champion “The Alpha” Konosuke Takeshita!

“The Alpha and I are going to go to every corner of the globe to defend that title!”

Takeshita: “I will defend this title all over the world. All wrestlers listen up. If you want this belt, come on and take it!”

Callis: “Last but not least, I’d like to ask for all of you to show some decorum because it’s been a difficult week for Kyle Fletcher.”

Fletcher: “All I have heard is why, Kyle, why? But that’s the problem. Everyone wants to talk about Will Ospreay when the Don Callis Family is having its biggest night in history. You people want to know why I did what I did? Too bad!”

Don Callis: “All you need to know. This version of the Don Callis Family has never been stronger than it is today!”

Renee Paquette was backstage with AEW Women’s World Champion “The Glamour” Mariah May!

Mariah: “Where is the competition? Bring me someone from Japan or Mexico. Does anyone here want to work? AEW is where the best wrestle? It’s where the best fear the Glamour!”

Anna Jay jumped on to the scene and took a swing at Mariah and inadvertently decked Christopher Daniels!

Renee Paquette interviewed Ricochet!

Ricochet: “Despite what Don Callis has to say, Takeshita didn’t beat myself and Will on the same night; he beat Will. I have one goal in AEW and that is to become champion. I’ll be at Collision this Saturday. I will show you, Takeshita, or anyone else who wants to show up, why I am out of this world.”

The Bang Bang Gang’s “Switchblade” Jay White (with Juice Robinson & Colten Gunn)

vs.

Christian Cage (with Mother Wayne & Nick Wayne)!

Switchblade planted Christian with a uranage for a near fall. Adam Page was hiding outside the ring. Cage rocked Jay White with the Killswitch, but Jay White managed to kick out! Christian Cage connected with a diving headbutt. Kip Sabian tried to interfere again. The ref prevented Sabian, but as the ref was distracted by Kip, Jay White set up Christian for the Blade Runner. Hangman Adam Page blasted Switchblade with the Buckshot Lariat as the referee had his back turned. Christian crawled onto Jay White, picking up the pieces, and picking up the victory.

“I don’t know if he’s good or lucky, but Chrisitan Cage benefitted from Hangman Adam Page!” said Excalibur.
