November 13, 2019, ALL ELITE WRESTLING (AEW) made its debut from the Nashville Municipal Auditorium, with ALL ELITE WRESTLING DYNAMITE on the TNT Network in front of a hot crowd!
Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and Jim Ross were the broadcast team for tonight’s event.
A video recap of this past Saturday’s FULL GEAR pay-per-view kicked things off. It was revealed that Kenny Omega would not be cleared to compete tonight because of injuries sustained during his battle with Jon Moxley at FULL GEAR. Moxley would be competing tonight, however.
Jon Moxley vs. Michael Nakazawa was our first match of the night.
Nakazawa tried to avenge his friend Kenny Omega’s loss, and charged Moxley before Moxley could even remove his ring jacket. That only angered Moxley, who nailed Nakazawa with the Paradigm Shift for a fast and furious victory. “Moxley doesn’t get paid by the hour,” said Jim Ross.
Moxley grabbed the microphone and said he delivered what he promised on Saturday at FULL GEAR and “Kenny Omega will never be the same again!” He said he respected Omega for having the courage to get in the ring with him, but he doesn’t think there’s anyone left in AEW who will have the guts to challenge him. “If you’re gonna step in the ring with me, kiss your loved ones goodbye!” Moxley exited through the crowd.
Evil Uno and Grayson of the Dark Order vs. Marko Stunt and Jungle Boy of Jurassic Express.
Jungle Boy dropped Grayson off his feet, and tagged in Marko who delivered a frankensteiner and then a cannonball senton off Jungle Boy’s back onto Grayson for a near fall. Evil Uno was tagged in and isolated Marko Stunt and landed with a senton onto Stunt, who managed to squeeze out of a two-count. Grayson was tagged in and gave a huge senton of his own to Stunt. Eventually Jungle Boy was tagged in and he cleaned house on the Dark Order, even hitting a back flipping knee drop onto both members of the team. Jurassic Express utilized tandem offense sending the Dark Order to the outside, but the Dark Order blocked a tope. Dark Order executed the Fatality finisher on Marko Stunt for a decisive victory over a winless Jurassic Express.
Evil Uno was surrounded by his creepers and tried to recruit Marko Stunt, but Jungle Boy declined the offer on behalf of his teammate. Evil Uno said he respected that, but then sent his minions after Jurassic Express. They tried to force a creeper mask on Jungle Boy, but then Luchasaurus came out to even up the odds, and the arena erupted in “Luchasaurus” chants! The big dino was not extinct after all, and he single-handedly sent the Dark Order retreating into the night.
“The Chairman” Shawn Spears, accompanied by Tully Blanchard vs. “The Librarian” Peter Avalon (accompanied “The Librarian” Leva Bates) vs. Darby Allin (accompanied by his skateboard).
Darby used a beautiful arm drag on Spears, and then a dropkick on Avalon. Darby went to the top rope but Spears knocked him off and began stomping on him. Spears then directed his attention to Avalon, and a crazed Joey Janela ambushed Spears. “The Bad Boy” Joey Janela and Spears brawled out into the crowd, leaving just Darby and Avalon in the ring. Darby hit a stunner and then a lethal-looking Coffin Drop on Avalon for the three count!
Darby Allin took the microphone and proclaimed: “Jon Moxley…I accept!”
“The Native Beast” Nyla Rose vs. Dani Jordyn.
Jordyn found out quickly that you can’t stand and trade punches with Nyla Rose. “The Native Beast” was intent on making an example of her opponent, and quickly dispatched of Jordyn with a massive powerbomb for the victory.
Tony Schiavone interviewed Allie, who said she was excited to show the world what she can do on AEW DYNAMITE.
The power to the mic was cut, and then the lights went out. Brandi Rhodes and Awesome Kong came out and assaulted Allie. She was outnumbered, and succumbed to the attack from Brandi and Kong. They proceeded to cut a swath of Allie’s hair off, walking away with another trophy for their collection of scalps.
“Le Champion” Chris Jericho, the AEW World Champion was out next to address the public.
Jericho said he demands a thank you from everyone in AEW, from the front office to all of the wrestlers, for putting AEW on the map. He said he proved that Cody is “nothing more than an entitled millennial son of a b**ch!”
Cody’s entrance music hit…but out came Cody’s former best friend, MJF!
MJF said you can boo him, but “you’ve been booing the wrong person the entire time. The real villain is Cody! Cody couldn’t give less of a s**t about any one of you. And there’s only one person on the planet that knows the real Cody, and you’re looking at him. The real Cody is a liar..a user and abuser.” MJF said Cody only wanted to keep him under his thumb, but you can’t keep MJF down, “because Cody Rhodes, I’m better than you, and you know it!”
MJF said he heard Jericho wanted him to join the Inner Circle, and Jericho said, “That’s funny, I heard you wanted to join my Inner Circle.” They both agreed that Cody was the “biggest jackass in AEW” and they hugged. An injured and outraged Cody came out to fight both MJF and Jericho. As Cody had both men down, the massive Wardlow hit Cody from behind and then choked him with a Burberry tie!
“Hangman” Adam Page vs. “The Bastard” Pac in the rubber match, as both men each hold a victory in this series.
PAC hit Page with a high kick and then spinning kicks, and then flew over the top to the outside of the ring onto Page. PAC climbed back up to the top rope and hit a moonsault to the outside onto Page! PAC went for Black Arrow but Page avoided it, then hit the tope suicida and a powerbomb on PAC for the two count! They traded punches in the center of the ring.
Jim Ross compared PAC to the Dynamite Kid with his similar physique and brutal delivery of ring maneuvers. PAC delivered a dropkick from the top rope to the back of Page’s head. Page connected with a high-risk move of his own, crashing onto PAC. Hangman went for the Buckshot but it was blocked, but then hit a Stan Hansen-like lariat onto PAC. An enziguri from PAC was only good for a two count on Page. They went outside and Page gave PAC a brainbuster on the floor! Page hit the Buckshot and almost scored the win, but PAC kicked out. PAC got two pump kicks in on Page and then stomped the back of Page’s head. The referee ordered PAC to stop, as Page seemed unable to defend himself. PAC went up for the Black Arrow and then applied the Brutalizer to an unconscious Page for the win.
Backstage, the Young Bucks were shown brawling with Santana and Ortiz. Matt Jackson put Ortiz through a table, and then Santana jumped off a forklift onto Nick Jackson! It was complete bedlam as the teams made their way from out back and into the crowd. They duked it out near the AEW fans. Security attempted to separate the two teams, to no avail. Nothing could contain them. Santana and Ortiz pulled out a blackjack and began to whip the Bucks with it. They hit the blackjack square on Nick’s leg. Santana took out a can of spray paint, marked a bull’s-eye on the ramp, and then they powerbombed Matt Jackson right through it! It was an absolute mugging! Brandon Cutler tried to help his friends, but he couldn’t stop Proud & Powerful. Then Private Party stormed out and P&P had enough. Proud & Powerful warned Private Party not to stick their noses where it didn’t belong and then they walked away.
The Main Event! AEW Tag Champs SCU (Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky, accompanied by Christopher Daniels) vs. AEW World Champion Chris Jericho (accompanied by “the Big Hurt” Jake Hager) and the “Spanish God” Sammy Guevara.
The tag titles were on the line tonight. Kazarian and Jericho locked up in the center of the ring, and Kazarian took him over with some lightning quick arm drags. He followed up with a dropkick on Le Champion, and Jericho crawled over to tag in Sammy Guevara. SCU displayed a nice sequence of offense on Sammy Guevara. Finally Jericho was tagged in and began to work over Kazarian. He executed a backbreaker on Kazarian, and then stood on top of him and flexed.
A rested Sammy was tagged in, and was able to take down Kazarian with an impressive dropkick. Guevara hit a standing Spanish fly on Kazarian, but then missed with the shooting star press! Sky was tagged in and hit a beautiful dropkick of his own on Sammy. Sky hit a modified spinebuster on Sammy G. On the outside, Hager wiped out Kazarian, and then caught Christopher Daniels midflight!
Scorpio Sky his a Lou Thesz Press on Jericho and then the T.K.O. for the two count on Le Champion! Sky blocked the lionsault from Jericho! Jericho hit the code breaker but Scorpio Sky rolled up Jericho for the pinfall, delivering Jericho his first loss in AEW!
Be sure to tune in next Wednesday, November 20th, for another explosive edition of AEW DYNAMITE on TNT, when we’ll be live from the Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis, Indiana!
