AEW Rampage Preview for July 1, 2022

Blood & Guts II lived up to its name last Wednesday on Dynamite! It was violent, bloody chaos the likes of which AEW hadn't seen, and featured some absolutely visceral moments that had to be seen to believe. The feats of strength by Claudio Castagnoli(Shop Merch), the ruthlessness of Eddie Kingston, Angelo Parker's very soul leaking out of his body as the blood coagulated on his face, it all combined for one of the most unforgettable nights in All Elite Wrestling history! Yet even in victory, the decades old issues between Kingston and Castagnoli came to the forefront as “The Mad King” seemed to feel robbed of his moment of glory, his triumph over Chris Jericho.

In addition to the B&G II Cage Match, Wednesday night also witnessed the dark monster inside Luchasaurus come to light thanks to Christian Cage, Jade Cargill continuing her historic run with another successful TBS Title defense, Orange Cassidy and Ethan Page having a tremendous fight that “Freshly Squeezed” won, and FTR united with Danhausen to teach The Gunn Club a little lesson!

On top of that, Scorpio Sky and Wardlow agreed to meet in a Street Fight in Rochester next week on Dynamite, and Jay Lethal issued his Death Before Dishonor 2022 challenge to Samoa Joe for the ROH World TV Title!

Now this Friday night, in the aftermath of Blood & Guts II, Rampage drop on TNT at 10pm EDT/9pm CDT on TNT, as well as on AEWPlus.com for our international audience. The first challenger for Jon Moxley's AEW Interim World Title will be determined in the first-ever 20 man Royal Rampage, Nyla Rose and Toni Storm will battle in the main event with Women's World Title implications, and The Young Bucks will collide with Bishamon in tag team action with championship implications of its own! Get ready for it all by visiting the official AEW YouTube channel, AEW Twitter feed, and Facebook to catch up on Dynamite highlights, and watch the latest episodes of Dark: Elevation, AEW Dark, Road To, and the Control Center with Tony Schiavone!

ROYAL RAMPAGE

Adam Page, Brody King, Dante Martin, Darby Allin, Dustin Rhodes, Frankie Kazarian, John Silver, Keith Lee, Konosuke Takeshita, Matt Hardy, Max Caster, Orange Cassidy, Penta Oscuro, Powerhouse Hobbs, Ricky Starks, Rush, Swerve Strickland, The Blade, The Butcher, & Tony Nese

***WINNER EARNS AEW INTERIM TITLE MATCH***

Who will be the first man to challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW Interim World Title he won at Forbidden Door (Order Replay)? We will find out Friday night when 20 competitors compete in AEW's first Royal Rampage!

The format is simple; two rings and each minute a new wrestler enters an alternating ring, either the red or the blue, until all 20 wrestlers enter. With 10 wrestlers in each ring, they'll fight under Battle Royal rules until only one man is left in each ring. The last two standing will then go to battle to determine who gets the AEW Interim World Title match with Jon Moxley!

Of those twenty listed above, some have had championship bids before, some even fought Moxley during his AEW World Title reign, and some have never even been in the ring with Mox, much less earned an AEW championship opportunity. This will a golden moment for the career of one man, who will prove deserving of the title shot?

TAG TEAM CHALLENGE...

AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson)

vs.

Bishamon (Hirooki Goto & Yoshi-Hashi)

It is actually quite surprising, given each team's tenure with New Japan Pro Wrestling, that The Young Bucks, then representing BULLET CLUB, and Bishamon, staunch members of CHAOS, never collided in pure tag team action. As a matter of fact, these four men have never even been in the same ring at the same time! They've fought Yoshi-Hashi, they've battled Hirooki Goto, but in all their bouts with each in multi-man situations, never were Hashi and Goto on the opposing squad.

That makes this tag team bout, one in which Bishamon could earn a future World Tag Title opportunity with a victory, quite the historic night for both teams! Now at Forbidden Door, with a victory over The Factory, only Goto and Yoshi-Hashi were triumphant whereas the BULLET CLUB reunion failed to lead to victory against the Dudes with Attitudes trio, and in the aftermath, the brothers Jackson kind of found themselves without any friends to console them in their defeat.

No friends save the championship belts around their waist, and this The Young Bucks second reign as World Tag Team Champions continues but now they've brought a challenge upon themselves this Friday night. They are the ones who cracked on the Forbidden Door one more time to let Bishamon back in, and they are the ones risking a future title match just to placate their bruised egos.

Can the CHAOS representatives earn themselves a future AEW World Tag Team Title match? Or will The Young Bucks find the balm for their wounded egos with a victory over Bishamon?

ONE-ON-ONE...

Nyla Rose vs. Toni Storm

Last week on Dynamite, the union of Nyla Rose and Marina Shafir tried to lay wasted to Toni Storm after Storm's victory over “The Problem”. Thunder Rosa's intervention not only prevented the situation from becoming much worse, but it insured that “La Mera Mera” would be fighting a healthy Storm at Forbidden Door a few days later.

While that AEW Women's World Title match did not go the way Toni had hoped, the taste of championship air only served to make her more determined to capture Rosa's crown, and it forced the champion to step up her game in order to find victory. Each woman earned the respect of the other through that battle, but in the case of Nyla and Marina, there is no respect, no love, just a desire to even the score.

That desire may be fulfilled this Friday night on Rampage when the number one ranked Nyla Rose takes on the number three ranked Toni Storm! It's a first-time collision for these to warriors, and the future of the AEW Women's World Title could very well be painted by the results of this contest! Each has faced Rosa for the title, and each has been defeated, but that isn't going to stop “The Native Beast” or Toni Storm from continuing to fight for a second shot. They just have to go through each other to get there!

This Friday night's Rampage cracks the Forbidden Door open just a tad, and it's coming at you starting at 10:00 EDT/9:00pm CDT on TNT, as well as at AEWPlus.com for international audiences! Nyla Rose and Toni Storm fight it out in bout sure to affect the Women's World Title situation, The Young Bucks collide with Hirooki Goto and Yoshi-Hasi for the first time, and the first man to challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW Interim World Title will be determined!
