AEW Rampage Preview for June 14, 2024

Wednesday night was stacked with two championship matches featuring TBS Champion Mercedes Moné retaining her title over CMLL's Zeuxis, and AEW International Champion Will Ospreay keeping that title around his waist in a phenomenal main event bout! Plus, we watched RUSH and MJF brawl throughout the arena, and Jack Perry advance to the TNT Championship Ladder Match at FORBIDDEN DOOR 2024 while The Elite made a challenge to AEW for Blood & Guts that will take place in Nashville! We also learned that both The Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada will be in Eliminator Matches next Wednesday in Fairfax, VA, and MJF will fight RUSH in the opening contest of the night!

Tonight is going to be jam-packed with action as RAMPAGE comes to you at 10pm ET/9pm CT on TNT, and we've got “The Bastard” PAC fighting Jay Lethal for the very first time in your main event! Plus, AEW Women's World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm will be in action against Alex Windsor, Rocky Romero takes on Shota Umino, Satnam Singh is in action, and plenty more coming your way! Before the night gets underway, be sure to visit AEW's official YouTube channel for highlights from this week's DYNAMITE, previous episodes of RAMPAGE and COLLISION, Christopher Daniels on Renee Paquette's Close-Up, and plenty more for the AEW faithful! SINGLES MATCH...

AEW Women's World Champion Toni Storm vs. Alex Windsor

Three weeks ago, obviously prior to the events of DOUBLE OR NOTHING 2024, Alex Windsor made her All Elite Wrestling debut when she teamed up with Anna Jay to take on Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale. Although it was not a successful debut, the woman from the UK made quite an impact, and tonight on RAMPAGE she returns to the AEW stage for one of the biggest opportunities imaginable! Though the AEW Women's World Championship is not on the line, Alex Windsor will still be stepping into the ring with “Timeless” Toni Storm to open up AEW's Friday night festivities!

A highly decorated competitor with fifteen years on her resume, Windsor was trained by the family of AEW's own Saraya, including her mother Sweet Saraya, brother Zak Knight, and father Ricky Knight, and held championships throughout her career. In fact, Windsor's 769 day reign as the RevPro Undisputed British Women's Champion is the longest in that title's history and it featured an impressive thirteen successful defenses. In short, Alex Windsor is an absolute threat to any woman she steps into the ring with, meaning taking this fight as FORBIDDEN DOOR 2024 draws nearer may not be the smartest decision on the part of “Timeless” Toni Storm.

So the question is if Storm can score an impressive 18th consecutive victory tonight on RAMPAGE, or if Alex Windsor can show the world why she's among the best the UK has to offer by scoring a win over “The Timeless One”?

ONE-ON-ONE...

“The Bastard” PAC vs. Jay Lethal

Take two world class wrestlers who have to be incredibly frustrated with their recent runs in All Elite Wrestling, put them in the ring together, and so who is the better man! That is what we have on our hands with this fight tonight between Jay Lethal and “The Bastard” PAC, and in light of PAC announcing his entry into the 2024 Owen Hart Foundation(https://owenhartfoundation.org/) Tournament, it's even more a must-win for the former AEW All-Atlantic Champion.

He was frustrated by The Elite in his return to action at BIG BUSINESS, frustrated in his Continental Championship fight with Kazuchika Okada at DYNASTY 2024, frustarted in Death Triangle's Undisputed World Trios Championship fight at DOUBLE OR NOTHING 2024, and frustrated in the FORBIDDEN DOOR 2024 Casino Gauntlet match won by Will Ospreay. Suffice to say, very little has gone PAC's way, and he'd love to turn those fortunes around before The Owen begins.

Much the same could be said for Jay Lethal; he saw an AEW International Championship slip through his fingers when Rey Fenix countered a Figure Four attempt into a pinfall, he watched as Will Ospreay won the International Championship Casino Gauntlet match prior to DOUBLE OR NOTHING 2024, one can even go back to the end of last year when Lethal went winless in the Continental Classic. At least “The Bastard” PAC can claim multiple AEW championships on his resume, Lethal has been repeatedly frustrated in his attempts to become a champion ever since he started his AEW journey challenging Sammy Guevara for the TNT Title!

Tonight one of these two men will make the opportunity for himsef to start anew and push towards a brighter future while the other will have to look at himself in the mirror and try to figure out just what needs to be corrected before it's too late and the hole is dug too deep!

A NEW JAPAN CLASH...

Rocky “Azucar” Romero vs. Shota Umino

Shota Umino and Rocky “Azucar” Romero are no strangers to one another; almost since the beginning of Umino's career, Romero has been there in one form or another. They've been foes, even been allies on a couple occassions, but in their four bouts standing as opponents each man has scored two victories, though until tonight none of those wins came in a one-on-one bout!

Tonight on RAMPAGE, for the first time, Shota Umino and Rocky Romero will go one-on-one and All Elite Wrestling gets to host this confrontation! When last they met, it was as participants in a Trios Match at NJPW STRONG RESURGENCE 2023 that culminated with Shota pinning Romero to get the win for himself, Jon Moxley, and Wheeler Yuta. In this first-ever singles bout, can Rocky make up for that defeat or will it be “Shooter” who turns sours the night for “Azucar”?

ALSO IN ACTION:

-SATNAM SINGH!

-CAGE OF AGONY (BRIAN CAGE, TOA LIONA, & BISHOP KAUN)!!

-AND MORE!!!

Des Moines has an action-filled night in store for them when RAMPAGE hits the airwaves at 10pm ET/9pm CT on TNT, and we're kicking it off with AEW Women's World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm battling England's Alex Windsor! Plus, Jay Lethal goes one-on-one with “The Bastard” PAC for the very first time, Shota Umino returns to AEW to take on Rocky “Azucar” Romero, and tons more action for the AEW faithful! Ahead of belltime, make a point to swing by the official AEW YouTube channel for highlights from this week's DYNAMITE, as well as previous episodes of RAMPAGE and COLLISION, Christopher Daniels visiting Renee Paquette's Close-Up, Hey!(EW), and more!

Then on Saturday,  joins All Elite Wrestling in Youngstown, OH at the Covelli Centre for the one year anniversary of COLLISION where Thunder Rosa and Deonna Purrazzo slug it out in a No Disqualification bout, The House of Black and The Bang Bang Gang meet in Trios Action, Lee Moriarty and Dante Martin clash in the next TNT Championship Ladder Match Qualifier, and “The Patriarch” Christian Cage has a Father's Day celebration on his mind!
