Continental Classic Finals

2024 AEW Continental Classic Finals Match!

“The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada vs. “The Aerial Assassin” Will Ospreay!

Jim Ross joined the broadcast booth for this match.

“We’re seeing some history made here tonight,” said Jim Ross.

Okada clobbered Ospreay with an elbow strike. Ospreay answered with a stinging chop. Ospreay took down Okada with a hurracanrana. Ospreay followed up with a dive over the top rope to Okada outside the ring.

Okada spiked Will with a DDT on the arena floor. Okada followed up with a draping DDT to the floor! Okada drilled Will with a DDT in the ring for a near fall.

“Three DDTs and you have the wherewithal to kickout? I think it’s instinct,” said Jim Ross.

Okada dropkicked Will as Will was on the turnbuckles. Will’s leg got caught in the ropes. Okada saw the opportunity and targeted the right leg of Will’s, hitting a knee breaker. Ospreay escaped a tombstone attempt and rocked Okada with an Os-Cutter off the barricade.

Will flattened Okada with an Os-Cutter in the ring for a near fall! Ospreay buckled Okada with a chop. Okada got right back up and nailed Will with a neck breaker. Okada jumped off the top rope with an elbow drop. Okada launched himself at Ospreay with a John Woo dropkick!

Ospreay hit the Styles Clash out of nowhere for a near fall! Okada cracked Will with the Rainmaker, but Will kicked out of the pin attempt!

The fans chanted “Fight forever! Fight forever!”

“There must be a winner in this match,” said Excalibur.

“I am loving this match,” replied Jim Ross.

Okada went for the Rainmaker, but Ospreay countered with a standing Spanish Fly! Okada dropkicked Will, countering the Os-Cutter. Will fired back with a Rainmaker and then the Stormbreaker but Okada kicked out at the two-count!

“Unbelievable!” yelled Excalibur.

The pace quickened, Okada ducked the Hidden Blade attempt from Ospreay, and Okada knocked Ospreay’s block off with the Rainmaker. Okada covered Will and won the tournament via pinfall!

“Cumulatively I don’t know how much blood Will has lost but it has to be a lot,” said Jim Ross.

“Ospreay has nothing to hang his head about with that performance,” replied Schiavone.

Christopher Daniels appeared on the ramp to congratulate Okada.

Daniels: “Normally this would be the time when I’d come down to the ring to present you with your title, but I can no longer do that. As of today I am no longer an EVP with All Elite Wrestling. But this man is…”

Kenny Omega’s music began to play, and the Best Bout Machine walked onto the ramp!

Omega walked to the ring with the Continental Championship to present it to his longtime rival. Omega handed the belt to Okada and then Okada held up the belt in Omega’s face, taunting him.

The fans chanted “Kenny! Kenny! Kenny!”

“I think Okada feels upstaged by Kenny’s return right about now,” said Excalibur.

“I’d agree,” replied Jim Ross.
